Jay Shepheard’s hot Retrofit imprint is back for its sixth installment of deep disco cuts courtesy of Rudy’s Midnight Machine, the brainchild of Faze Action collaborator Robin Lee. Drawing on wide and varied influences from Electro, Disco and Rock to House and New Wave Rudy’s embraces the Retrofit ethos – mixing the old with the new, the synthetic with the organic and the analogue with the digital. Also appearing on the EP along side the Rudy’s originals is the debut remix from Ee Ef Ex – the new side project from the people behind the scenes at Retrofit.
Through the hook driven synth fest of “Ecstatic Love Glow” via the sparse and jacking uptempo groove of “East Side Good Living” to the deep extended disco trip of the “Ee Ef Ex 12” version” the EP oozes musicality, groove, reference and style in the way that only Retrofit knows how.
A1: “Ecstatic Love Glow”
A2: “East Side Good Living”
B1: “Ecstatic Love Glow” (Ee Ef Ex 12″ version)
